When people say they cried at a movie (like Up) do they mean they literally shed tears, or just that they got a little misty and felt sad? If it’s the former, I feel like I must be some kind of robot, because I’ve never had enough movie-induced eye moisture to cause a droplet to run down my cheek. The end of It’s A Wonderful Life always gets me, but I don’t need tissues for it. Someone show me the way.

crying = full tears, tearing up = tearing up.  i cried at up, 3 or 4 times.  i didn’t sob though.  i am trying to think of the last movie i sobbed at.  eh, who knows, sometimes i tear up at commercials.

During Up I was tearing up, enough that I was making a conscious effort to hold it in. The only movie in recent memory that made me really cry was House of Sand and Fog, because it was about terrible things happening to people for no good reason whatsoever.

For me, it is the first one for two reasons: 1) I am a very emotional person, and 2) I have always been sucked in by movies.  When I was little, I would go to the movies and talk back to the screen as a character.  I have a very vivid memory of seeing Back To The Future 2 and talking to Doc as Marty.
